AnthillPro Consulting

I have been a Software Developer for many years.  Software Development is a complex process that can deliver amazing benefits for the end users but can also be frustrating and deliver HUGE losses to those same end users when something goes wrong.

Usually, whether you use the Waterfall approach or even an Agile development process most of your time is spent designing and developing the code.  Sometimes the build process gets automated, especially in the Agile world, however, it is extremely rare that the deliver process is nailed down and automated.  Trusting the "last mile" of the software process, the delivery and deployment, to a manual and error prone process introduces great risk and cost to the enterprise.

Many times I have seen the deployment process consist of developers emailing or ftping their built artifacts, most likely build on their own development machine, to another server and then copying them in place.  Sometimes I even see developers copying over single files rather than the complete application.  I have seen this process fail numerous times at great expense to their employers.

AnthillPro is an impressive tool that can dramatically improve the efficiency and productivity of a software development shop while greatly reducing the risks involved with the manual, tedious and error prone tasks involved with building and deploying software applications into their run-time environments.

AnthillPro can benefit both small development shops and especially large organizations.  The more applications that an organization has, the more run-time environments (DEV, UAT, PROD, etc...) and the more complexity involved in a deployment, the greater the potential benefit of AnthillPro to the organization.

While I am sold on the benefits of using AnthillPro, I have discovered that learning and effectively using AnthillPro has some steep learning curves to achieve the maximum benefits.

I provide consulting services for AnthillPro automation including issues related to Java, Maven, ANT, Eclipse, Nexus, Subversion, CVS, Continuous Integration, Beanshell, Groovy and many other aspects of AnthillPro automation .

If you have a need for AnthillPro consulting or mentoring and would like to discuss, you can contact me at the email address below or fill out the form at the "Contact Form" page.
